Aftercare and attention after a tattoo:
- Touch the tattoo as little as possible with your hands.
- Wash the tattooed area twice a day with unscented soap until the tattoo wound is completely healed.
- After washing the tattoo wound, gently pat it dry with a clean towel.
- Keep the tattoo dry as much as possible.
- If desired, lubricate the tattoo (with clean hands) with unscented Vaseline or Bepanthen.
Do not use any other ointment and do not allow others to use the ointment. - Do not drip wound disinfectants such as Sterilon or Betadine on the wound.
- Do not wear plasters or bandages over the tattoo wound.
- Never wear tight or dirty clothing on the tattoo wound.
- During the healing process, avoid contact with bathing water (chlorinated pools, hot tubs, natural bathing water).
- Also, do not use the sauna or steam bath.
Do not expose the tattooed area to the sun or to a tanning bed (not even with sunscreen).
Even after the healing time on the tattoo, always use a high sun protection factor! - In case of extreme redness, swelling, bleeding, pus, color change of the wound or pain, always contact your doctor.
